This is friend chicken lunch set, tasty. They also offer Ramen and Grills (only in dinner).
Good food. First visit. First time we tasted fresh wasabi (amazing). You have to order via a paper sheet were you ticked the meal and the number you want. Typical Japanese grilled, scallops were tasteless. Quick service and personnel very nice. However beforehand we asked one waiter if we did not order to much food for an adult and a teenager, he said no! At the end it was too much and we ate too much. Dear owner a better advice would have been appreciated. Anyway a must to visit once
Very good Japanese Restaurant in Amsterdam. We have been here several times. Once for dinner and many times for lunch. The ramen which is served only during lunch is very tasteful (vegetarian option available). For dinner check their menu online. They have a huge variety of Japanese bites which are all very good.Authentic Japanese atmosphere and experience.I highly recommend it.
The fried chicken in sauce was decent! The ramen was also very tasty. I ordered cold soba as well. That one was a bit plain in taste but after adding the complimentary sauce the taste seemed ok.
The place feels authentic, it's cozy and the food is terrific. It felt like I was rivisiting Japan again, would recommend again.
Fantastic Japanese restaurant with a great choice of really the best dishes. We were amazed by the roasted eggplant topped with a great taste of miso. The staff is super friendly and can definitely advice you about the menu. And don't wear your new clothes! It's quite smokey inside
Summer holiday from 4-24 August 2019.
Great food! Would definitely recommend!
Unbelievable Japanese yakitori and ramen in a perfect little setting. Good sake selection. Super fun for hanging out with friends.
Great atmosphere, authentic setting, terrific food. Yakitori are a must! Very recommended.
Great izekaya experience in Amsterdam! Can get a bit pricey fast, but is well worth it.Not recommend for vegetarians unless you don't mind bonito flakes (fish).
One of the best ramens in town!!The moment you step in , you are immediately taken to a Tokyo neighbourhood ramen place. Food is good , service is fast, ambience is smoky!!
This is the most authentic Japanese restaurant I’ve been in Amsterdam! Can’t recommend it more ðŸ˜
It was really little for a main course. I'm used to Udon soup with a lot more filling. The soup tasted good though.
Delicious and good price!
It was a great and authentic Japanese experience. The food was absolutely tasty. They have a wide variety of food with excellent quality. Their sake selection was amazing and the employees were very kind.
Really great food. I got kinda scared of the octopus balls tho (like meat balls but made of octopus) because the octopus flakes on it were still moving. Menu is a little hard to understand because I still only understood half of the English translation. Often the menu doesn't explain what something is but the waiters/waitresses can explain it to you if you ask so don't be afraid to ask questions about the food.
An authentic Japanese restaurant. Litterally Every item On their menu is great.
Best Ramen soup ever and love the sticks!
Great Japanese food.
Amazing place if you are fun of Japanese culture. Super atmosphere fully recommend
The food at Hakata Senpachi is some of the best Japanese food I’ve had in Amsterdam. Service was friendly (maybe not the fastest) and it got pretty smokey from the grill, but the food was well worth it.
Very good quality ramen and gyoza. Good selection of drinks. Kind service.
My favorite Japanese restaurant in Amsterdam. Very popular with Japanese expats. Senpachi specialises in grilled dishes so don't expect any sushi.
We made a reservation for Valentine's day to have dinner with my family of 4. We did so 8 days before. They could not find our reservation. We showed them the phonecall we made to the restaurant on the 6th and they did believed us, that we made the reservation. But they still did not offer us a regular table as we had requested. Instead they offered us a shared table AND we had to make sure we would finish our Valentine's dinner within 1hr! It's not worth to make reservations at such a place if you can't be sure to get a table.
Location was easy to find. Not many options for lunch and quite expensive. Got charged for two orders of tea but was only one teapot. Staff was ok.
Solo discrimination - Initially I booked a table for 3 and I called for a quantity change to 1p due to last minute cancellation. First reaction on the phone is that I will be moved to the counter because I am alone. No apologies nor an explanation. I persist for a table because I had a table. They could move me to a smaller table but NO. I am 1 person, so only counter. Typical Japanese discrimination.... solo’s should sit at the counter and make space for others with more. I wouldn’t mind if he asked politely and explain. It has been always my favorite place for yakitori and after this incident I hope the new izakaya will open soon and will do better then SenpachiAt the end, I didn’t bother to call them anymore to cancel my bar seat as this happening made me very annoyed how solo’s are being treated and not entitled to have a table
Great authentic little Japanese restaurant. Low key and very nice staff
Pleasant staff, but the price category doesn't match with the online menu. After we paid the expencive bill, we noticed the beef sticks and ice cream. We paid €5 each and €6.2 for 1 scoop ice cream! Not recommended if you eat there with a whole group, because the price is not worth the taste.
Real Japanese dish!!! You will see what is real Japanese foods. All dish are really amazing, staff are friendly, that why I went to here a lot of times. I highly recommend this restaurant.I’m honest!!! I guess Everyone must try Real Japanese dish at Senpachi ;)
Great vibes, really good atmosphere, but food was mediocre. Edamame was microwaved I think, sashimi was pre-prepared hours before I think ... didn't seem that fresh and some of the pieces were a little chewy. Yakatori was a little disappointing as well, not an awful lot of flavour going on and a little squidgy. Hate being neg. on a review because the restaurant's got a lot going for it! I didn't try a lot on the menu, so there could be a lot of awesome stuff that I don't know about, but just based on what I had I was a little disappointed.
The pork belly and chicken yakitori sticks were DIVINE. I’ll be back very soon! One of my favourite restaurants! Delicious
Best ramen in Amsterdam! This one and Sora Ramen. 🙌ðŸ»
Super fresh, authentic and tasty food, with great service! A must try in Amsterdam! Also had the salt and yuzu sake, delicious!
Friends call me "1-Star Michael" because my reviews are always honest and not sugar coating if some things are wrong. Well here is one of my rare 4-star reviews.Perfect, honest, authentic food, great service at a busy evening - Recommended to place a reservation.I spend quite some time in Japan and was recently at avery good Yakitori BBQ in Tokyo that used Binchotan-coal and as all Japanese Operations they ran it with passion and dedication to please the customer - Same thing here as well. Definitely will comeback with friends to share this great find.Arrigatou-gozaimashita.If you want to know why not 5-stars !? Well my philosophy is that you should never stop improving even if you are great.
I enjoy the visit because it reminded me that I was back in Japan as I could speak Japanese with some of the staff. Felt really nice and nostalgic. Food was good.
3.5 First of all...bring your own wasabi they charged 3euro for a small dish (like soysauce dish) and it was pretty tasteless...no wasabi kick at all. The yakitori was oretty good but i loved their ramen. Good and flavourful.
Never been to Japan but the experience of this food made me travel a little. The eel and black ice cream are a must order! You are welcome ;-)
Food is really among the best Japanese in Amsterdam. Lots of choices from cheap to expensive. Staff was super friendly too. It's busy, but you won't have to wait long for your food at all.
This place is like being in Japan. The environment is very similar and you could try a really good quality food and of course you will eat really special Japanese dishes. Very recommendable!
Really good yakitori. Wear cheap clothes, because you will smell like a bbq
I only had ramen and some side dishes so I can not give an overall review but the Tonkotsu ramen featured yuzu flavor which I do not think it is typical in Hakata but it was very delicious. Service is not open for lunch during lunch time, on weekdays only on weekends and was full with Japanese families. A nice indication of their authenticity.
I come here often and they never dissappoint me. The service is good and the food is stunning. If you love Izakaya then you should definitely pay a visit here!
What is this place?! How can they serve such an authentic and tasty Japanese food in Europe?! It’s really magic. :D Now I don’t need to miss Japanese food anymore...because I can come back here any time. :)
Really nice and tasty Japanese food! Didn’t expect they have also quite some options for vegetarians also in a Japanese kitchen, highly recommended to Japanese food lovers!
Authentic food and great service. Price is super reasonable but the the stomach, tongue, miso pork were chewy unfortunately
One of the best yakitori so far in EU
Amazing food !
Best Izakaya in town!!!Gyutan is my favorite!cold udon also nice, next time will try the Ramen
Such a great Japanese restaurant. Their food is amazing and it feels pretty authentic. We’ve tried the ramen, the scallops, eggplant with miso and pork belly and chicken grilled sticks. Amazing! Expect ~25€ pp
